Book Notes: Rich Habits
There are 4 types of luck:
- Random good luck -no control over this
- Random bad luck -also no control
- Opportunity luck -byproduct of good daily habits
- Detrimental luck -evil twin of opportunity luck
Rich habits:
- Have many good habits and few bad habits. Successful people are slaves to their good daily habits.
- Successful people are goal oriented. They create goals all the time. Daily to-do list. Long term monthly goals broken down into steps. Goals for current year and following year. They are long term thinkers.
- Engage in self improvement every day. Become a student to your industry, keep current with changes that occur. READ.
- Devote a part of each day to take care of your health. Watch what you eat, and exercise.
- Devote each day and every day to form lifelong relationships. Form relationships with like-minded people and nurture them.
- Live each and every day in a state of moderation. Balanced life, no extremes.
- Accomplish tasks every day, “do it now” mindset. Focused on accomplishing things. Goal oriented.
- Engage in rich thinking every day. Positive, enthusiastic, energetic, happy, and well-balanced. Problems and obstacles are opportunities. Successful people control what they see and hear every day. They are grateful for all that life has given to them.
- Successful people pay themselves first. They set aside 10% of their gross earnings into savings/investment vehicle. They invest their money wisely, watch over their savings regularly, and set realistic goals for their investment returns. They monitor their personal balance sheet.
10. Successful people are the masters of their thoughts and emotions. They understand that bad thoughts/emotions create bad decisions that result in bad consequences. “Think, Evaluate, and React.”
